Communication is an important skill that an AVID student must present. This involves both speaking and listening. For this trait I chose a pre-discussion organizer for philosophical chairs. In AVID we used this worksheet during our discussion and had both pros and cons for the argument. During the discussion there were several good points that brought forth profound ideas. Those I jotted on the side and continued listening and double checking to assure that I was on the same page as the discussion. Having this worksheet helped me keep track of my point of view and evidence that supported it. In any discussion both pros and cons must be noted down and expressed respectively in the discussion.
