When considering how others would describe my leadership style, I imagine they would say I am a very positive and inspirational leader. In the school setting, I have organized many committees, assemblies, and group projects. I have held many leadership roles in ASB as a class officer, student body ad manager this past year and was recently elected as the ASB President. I continually involve myself in multiple community projects; I volunteer each year at our annual community fall fair by helping a local business prepare and serve food, I spend three hours each week at our local hospital volunteering, and I also help coordinate our annual Mr. Naches pageant. One, she has taught me about unconditional love. No matter where I go and what I do in this life, I know that I will have her continuous support. Two, she is a teacher. As a public school employee for the past 22 years, she has taught me that my education is my key to the world. I have grown up in a family that taught me to love learning, to always work hard on my academics and to challenge myself as much as I can. She has also taught me that I need to pursue a career that I love, not just one that sounds fun or that makes a lot of money. She is living proof of the benefits this can bring. Also, she was diagnosed with a chronic illness years ago that requires a lot of medical appointments, monthly infusions and continuous self-care. On top of all of that, she has continued to maintain a healthy marriage with my dad for 22 years, raise my brother and me, work in a school and take care of herself too. For the past five years, I have been selected to play on the top team for our region- a national traveling team. We have made it to Nationals four of the five years and I have learned so much along the way. As a freshman, I knew that my dream was to work hard enough that I would have the opportunity to play in college. I have always been tall and as a freshman was 6’ 1”. A lot of people assumed that I would be a hitter, but my coaches helped me to recognize that my dream was to be a setter and I have worked hard each day to become the best player and teammate that I can be.
As a freshman, my parents helped me to connect with a college recruiter that has helped us through the process. She taught me early on that playing sports at the collegiate level takes much more than just being a great athlete. Coaches are looking for great teammates. They want players that have a strong academics, admirable characters and good sportsmanship. I have continued to excel academically and always put school
