AR Optics Scopes

Improved Essays
If you enjoy the sport of shooting with an AR-type rifle, Bushnell has a riflescope designed with you in mind. Their AR Optics 3-12x40 mm scopes are caliber-specific to give the most accurate performance for the ammunition you like to shoot. This particular model is engineered to give outstanding results with AR223 bullets.

This Bushnell AR Optics scope is made of a black aluminum alloy with an anodized finish. It looks great on a gun, and the matte finish means that it will not catch the sun and give off reflective flashes that reveal your position. The scope is 12 inches long and weighs 21.3 ounces. The mounting tube is 4.6 inches long with a one-inch diameter, which is compatible with most standard mounting rings. What makes this riflescope special is Bushnell’s Drop Zone-223 BDC reticle. It has cross hairs with marks along the lower vertical axis designating 200, 300, 400, 500, and 600 yards. These marks are precisely calibrated to

The optics are fully multi-coated, which allows for a greater transmission of light through the 40 mm objective lens. This results in bright, clear images at all levels of magnification. The coatings also reduce glare and reflection and help protect the external surfaces of the glass from scratches. The scope is sealed, making it waterproof and fog-proof. This lets you take your rifle hunting in any weather or in the misty early mornings without worrying about condensation.

The eye relief of this Bushnell model is 3.7 inches. This gives your AR223 plenty of room to recoil without contacting your eye socket. The exit pupil is 13.7 mm at 3x magnification and 3.7 mm at 12x. These values will ensure that you have a good view of your target even in the dim light of early morning or evening. This scope also has a generous field of view of 33 feet at 3x and 11 feet at 12 x, so your quarry will not slip out of your sights when you are tracking it for that perfect

During the Vietnam War, the Army used the old 60-inch searchlight from the World War II era, and the newer 30-inch searchlight. The Army realized that both the 60-inch and 30-inch searchlights were susceptible to small arms fire. For this reason, Air Defense crews changed from the 60-inch or 30-inch searchlight to the 23-inch VSS-1 Xenon Searchlight. The Army originally had the 23-inch VSS-1 Xenon Searchlight mounted on the M48 tank. They easily modified the 23-inch searchlight to fit on the M151A1 Jeep, reducing vulnerability.…

As the standard infantry rifle of the Second World War, the Garand saw combat throughout theaters in Europe with the United States Army and especially in the Pacific with the United States Marine Corps. The major distinction of the M1 Garand series lay in the acceptance of the weapon system as the first self-loading rifle reaching operational status in the world. This occurred at a time when other national military forces were still relying on the tried and true, albeit slow-loading, bolt-action type rifles. The M1 Garand, however, was not only…

Deaner went on to say that on top of the type of weapon you’re trying to get shooting accurately, that we have to consider what the intended use of the weapon will be. Wendell stated that “Along with the action type the next question should be what is this rifle intended to do? A heavy-barreled varmint rig with a powerful scope should generally shoot anywhere from an inch down. A big-bore double intended to shoot elephants at close range is a viable rifle if both barrels will overlap at 4, 5, or even 6”. Elephants and Cape Buffalo have a huge kill zone compared to a Prairie Dog and are shot at much closer range.…

My reaction to this weeks assignment “Metallic Sights: Design and Application” is one of the areas of gunsmithing I am still timid in. When I first learned shooting with iron sights was when I entered the US Army on the M16A2. I was so scared having to zero my own rifle; I did not understand three clicks left two clicks down. Then having to regroup until the grouping was in a certain inch circle. It took me a long time to grasp the concept of zeroing, but eventually I got it.…

    Persuasive Essay On Gun Laws

Guns are used all around the world, but here in the United States, we need to keep our gun usage limited with gun laws. Gun laws are put into action to make sure firearms are used responsibly; however, people will always find a way to break these laws no matter how many are made. Our Second Amendment, "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed”, gives U.S. citizens the right to own a weapon and use it for the right reasons. Gun laws will not reduce the amount of gun deaths in the U.S. because gun laws do not determine crime; gun ownership determines crime numbers. There were 460,000 gun deaths in the U.S. between 1999-2013 and this was the 12th leading cause of death.…
