APA Writing Reflection

When I registered for classes this semester, I was extremely nervous about taking this written class. I never felt comfortable writing papers. I would procrastinate until the very last minute to complete any writing assignment. I tried to go into this semester optimistic and attempt to figure out ways to be successful in this class. One of our assignments was to discuss our goals is for this class. My goals were to gain confidence in writing, learn the proper APA formatting and work to work on avoiding procrastination. Even though I’m not at the point of crossing every goal off my list, I did manage to gain knowledge on APA formatting. Prior to enrolling in classes at University of Houston Clear Lake, the community colleges I attended require us to write most of our papers in MLA Format. Therefore, when I was introduced to APA formatting I was so confused. I was not familiar with the Purdue webpage that offers detail instructions and examples in APA, MLA, and Chicago style formatting. I have completely failed at avoiding procrastinating. Throughout this semester, I still waited until the very last minute to complete any writing assignment. I’m just not a big fan of writing papers. I enjoy the research aspect of developing a paper because I love to learn. However, I feel the reason for my procrastination is due to me not being comfortable in writing and constantly second guessing my writing abilities. I always feel like I’m not writing a strong enough paper, or my researched information is not good enough. I am a little more comfortable at writing, but not as comfortable as I want to be. If I would give myself more time to write a paper and walking away from it when I feel stuck, this may help with my anxiety about
