I have emailed your TA Shante about my confusion with my grade on the critique assignment. I did place your email address in the bcc just to keep you informed. Shante’s answer to my inquiry I found to be less than fair. In the amount she deducted for the infractions she mentioned in her email. For instance, she said that she took 10 points off for not having a reference page and not citing the document in my writing. While I understand that in APA a reference page is required along with title page and abstract. However, several assignments that I have completed the professor does not require this with certain paper. The reference page was not mentioned as a requirement in the syllabus and in class I recall you mentioning that the class

William, I like the way you laid out your classroom rules, along with the handbook rules from patriot high school. Your choices reflect big challenges to keeping the classroom on track. Students who tend to be lethargic, and apathetic need to know from day one, that sleeping through class won’t fly; additionally, remaining respectful is of utmost importance. I noticed that the Patriot Student Handbook uses a lot of language to cover the use of cellphones. This was the Case in the Newport News handbook, as well.…

The article by Kim Larson (1993) discussed some of the health issues that plague the migrant farmworkers and their families. An important topic discussed in an article was that of the health issues that pregnant women and children endure. Upon reading the grading polices for this class I understand the guidelines and expectations as follows: I understand that the instructor, Mr. Fanning does not round grades upward, therefore I will strive to achieve the highest grade possible on my assignments, so that this policy will not hurt my overall grade. I understand that Mr. Fanning, does not create extra credit assignments, that being said, I will not ask Mr. Fanning for extra credit, and I will ensure that there will be no need to ask him, as my grade will be high enough to the point where extra credit is unnecessary. I understand that the due dates for assignments are final, and that work turned in late will not be accepted by Mr. Fanning. Because of this policy I will ensure that I turn in my assignments early, and not wait until the deadline to actually turn the…

Jayson’s article for usatoday.com is entitled “Who’s feeling stressed? Young adults, new survey shows.” In this article, Jayson details a variety of reasons cited by millenials for why they feel stressed by their current living circumstances. These reasons, of course, are primarily economic. And the effects of economic struggle for millenials, particularly those in their post-college years, are dovetailed by still other psychological effects (e.g. extreme anxiety or depression), stemming from the socio-economic circumstances in which they find themselves; where they had been promised a career and stability for all their hard work in school but find no employment in a broken economy; where they feel tremendous pressure to succeed and ‘make…

Writing was not a subject that held my interest in high school. Throughout the last twelve years I have found myself having to write letters, proposals, and business correspondence for my employers. I would complete the assignment and move on to the next task. Deciding to further my education I enrolled in Daytona State College and my first class was your ENC 1101. I have seen a change in my pre-class writing style; I have honed my skills, and the different techniques I have learned while taking this course have only improved my writing style.…

Firstly I would like to express my deepest apologies for the time scale for which I am submitting this appeal, unfortunately when I received my results for the assignment mentioned in the front side of the stage 1 from, I was left feeling rather discouraged. Thus, time was required to come to terms with the situation. As time passed I realised the possible valid grounds for appealing the current grade. Upon convening with my course leader (Carol Williams) I was advised upon the degree to which I hold a valid cause for appeal and steps to take.…

Journal Critique Reflecting on Practice: using learning journals in higher and continuing education Learning journals are an important method of assisting students with critical reflection, and as such are the focus of many discussions and studies. Most of the studies surrounding critical reflection and the use of learning journals focus on traditional students. The lack of study relating to non-traditional students, learning journals, and critical reflection creates the foundation for the research done by Arthur M. Langer of Columbia University. The purpose of this critique is to review Langer’s research and identify areas of strengths and weaknesses in the research’s format, data collection study design and analysis, and conclusions.…

I wouldn’t say this is a speech, but more of a reflection on my four years of high school. When I was told that this assignment was meant to give advice to the low classmen and show my fellow teachers how I have enbody the EPAA Vision through accomplishments and mistakes; well let me tell you that I had three mental breakdowns, and slept on it for a couple day until I came up with something to write. In my four years of high school I have experienced a significant amount of bad things and a few good things. I would list more bad things then good if I was asked the question, How has high school shaped me and what advice would I give? For example, I have been a runaway, almost dropped out and lived in a group home for a while.…
