I decided to enroll in AP Government and Economics it is the class that has the most utility for me. Starting towards the middle of freshman year in Honors Global History, I thought going into a higher history class was a good idea, so I decided to enroll in AP US History, which was one of the better decisions in my life. That class was a good experience so I wanted to take AP again in junior year. There are multiple benefits that drove me to make this decision; the first is content. In every single class in school (maybe except for math), I want to learn the most about that subject so AP would provide the huge benefit of having the most content so I would learn the most about the government and macroeconomics. In AP US History, we had to read and take notes on a textbook chapter at home while Mr. Zande expanded on the content in class. Another opportunity cost is potentially GPA because of the increased difficulty of the class, but I doubt it will be such a big problem. Thus, the benefits clearly outweigh the cost for taking this class so the result of a cost-benefit analysis says I should enroll in AP Government and

In American History Bound by Gary Y. Okihiro, he expresses an unpopular opinion about World War II. WWII was originally stated as the “good” war, especially in comparison to WWI which was only a mere twenty years previous. However, Okihiri contradicts this idea. In the chapter that was assigned for class, Okihiri expresses WWII in a mannerly fashion, despite his ideas; however, he speaks more about the underlying facts that are always portrayed when talking about the second world war. From the way he expresses these, as the reader it is clear his opinion on the war.…

This document written by The American Anti-Imperialist League, seeks to voice their opinion on their definition of freedom from imperialism after the US intervened in Cuba, The Philippines and Puerto Rico. In 1899, America acquired many de-facto states, prompting leaders in society like Mark Twain, to campaign against an atrocity they called imperialism. In doing so they denounced imperialism implying that it goes against the spirit of freedom, and what Americans have fought to free themselves from. However, this source can be thought of as biased because it was not written by someone who can argue both sides of imperialism, it was written by some of the wealthiest people in America who were against expansion, at a time where preserving the…

When one thinks about high school teenagers, "perfect" is probably one of the last words that come to mind, and not without good reason. We aren 't always the wisest people on the planet and lack in some areas more than others. I can easily say so for myself, and yes, although I am ashamed of not being able to keep up with certain subjects as well as others, I search for ways to keep myself going and overcome any difficulty in said areas, in my case, math and history. I remember back in middle school, I had the more "lax" history teachers, and I quite enjoyed it. There wasn 't much work, tests were open-note, and there were plenty of extra credit opportunities, so I passed both years with ease, despite me not fully understanding the subject.…
