Allusion Studies Icarus and Daedalus
Daedalus, a craftsman, and his son, Icarus, were forced to flee the island Crete after angering King Minos. He built them wax wings to escape, and warned his son about flying too high because the wings will be melted by the sun. Icarus flies too close to the sun and falls to the sea and drowns. His father continues to fly to Sicily and builds a temple for Apollo.
