With the increasingly used information technology in modern healthcare, there is a need to develop approaches to study the relationship between humans and other actors in the network.

This paper introduced ANT and its practical application on evaluation of IT.

By introducing ANT with its focus on inanimate entities and their effect on social process, the paper describes ANT as being considered the world as constructed with networks with central idea to investigate and theorize how the network is formed, how the actors are enrolled and working in the network etc.

The conceptual and practical ANT-informed approach will be helpful in studying IT implementations in healthcare systems as conceptual approach will be helpful for research to understand the complexity and fluidity of reality, while practical ANT will be used in combination with multi-sited ethnography for sampling by focusing on relevant informants that are related to the technology in question. …show more content…
