To find the impact of this policy one has to search for the total number fo APRNs practicing independently in the state of Texas. Though Texas has a critical shortage of primary care providers on an average of 450 primary care providers including urban, suburban and rural areas of the state, Texas still has stringent practice restrictions of APRN practice requiring to have a practice agreement with a physician for practicing APRN trade( Woolbert, 2017).
