Today in class we listened to Ms. Angela Wagenti the president and owner of Vroooom a web based service. Ms. Wagenti created Vroooom in1999 though it was not her initial dream. She explained to us that her passion is and always will be dancing. She graduated from Southern Methodist University with a BA in dance, and a minor in marketing. The Alta-Aurelia Fusion Dance Team should get their own designated practice space. Usually, they are one of the last sports team in the Alta-Aurelia school to have access to the gym, cafeteria, and the old high school gym. During their practices, other sports teams routinely come in and kick the dance team out, cutting their practices short. It would cost a substantial amount of money to build an addition or modify existing space to allow for the dance team to have their own area. However, the team could have multiple fundraisers to come up with enough funds to build the space.…

The music starts and a dozen little girls and boys start twirling and craning their necks to watch their dance instructor coach them from the wings. After watching the video lectures and reading through the PowerPoint presentations I found that they really helped me have a better understanding of the ballet dance and how it originated. As we learned the very early beginnings of ballet originated in Rome. However, the very first ballet that we know of today happened during the crusades in 1581 and it was called Ballet Comique De La Reine. The main purpose of the dance was to flatter the French and nearby people and to remind people that the medics of Florence, Italy still controlled Europe and the papacy. One interesting fact though was that this ballet was performed entirely by men, because it was thought that women should keep their proper place.…

The formation of dance has lived on this world for many generations as we continue to pass through history. When I went to the wonderful performance at Pierce College I experienced a whole new perspective on dancing. The concert had many types of students performing mixed dance projects of all types like solos and duets. There was an average size of one to eight dancers per project which made it the ideal size for the concert. I really enjoyed the creativity and effort put into this performance.…
One of the most incredible video that I watched to complete a Dance Observation assignment for Dance class is the video of: “Wade in the Water from “Revelations” by Alvin Ailey Company. This video was published on YouTube on November 25, 2007 and performed at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. This video is very beautiful and impressive at the first time I saw it. Then I keep watching it again to really focus on the detail of very movement and sections. The dancers presented a movement of an African American slavery era being empowered by drowned in the water but keep standing strong tightly.…
