AFOSI Website Analysis

Decent Essays
The AFOSI website is organized just like any other official Air Force website. There are tabs at the top for Photos, New, Library, Units, Questions, and such. There is also a latest new box with articles relating to Air Force topics such as Happy 68th Birthday Air Force and National Cybersecurity Awareness Month. There is a box with just AFOSI Highlights that have to deal with specifically AFOSI like joining AFOSI and an anonymous tip line. The tip line brings you to a form you can fill out with all the tip information and a terms and conditions box.
All the information seems very useful and could assist with research but in traditional Air Force manner there is a lot of public relations fluff. A huge section of the website is Top Air Force Stories and Senior Leader Priorities that have almost nothing to do with AFOSI. I would say approximately 40% of the site in non-AFOSI information. There are tons of links that lead you to AFOSI publications and the AFOSI’s official FaceBook and Twitter sites that can be very useful. I really enjoy the site because of all the useful information it provides. Anything you could want to know about AFOSI can be found. I do not like the great amount of useless information. The site could really do without

Upon first glace I would guess that this site is either new or managed by someone with some limited skills. It is organized pretty well but the look and feel of the page is lacking. The front page shows an article written by someone other than the website administrator about police depression. To the right there is a statement about the site being used for academics and not to replace therapy. There is also the contact information and picture of the website owner. There is a blog archive where you can go back a read other articles. Beneath the articles is a place where you can post

This week’s journal entry serves the purpose of analyzing the Mylan healthcare’s website on anaphylaxis, and compare it with best practices for usability, accessibility, credibility, and consistency, as I would if I were a member of a communications department at Mylan healthcare. The web is an important medium of communication as it combines all types of other communication which came before it (Lester, 2012). As other forms of media, the web can also be a valuable resource for information and change, but the effectiveness and success of a website may hinder upon the audience’s perspective of the website. First and foremost a website has to grasp the audience’s attention, and provide content which is interesting, applicable, and befitting for the targeted audience. The Mylan Healthcare Anaphylaxis website’s intent is to bring about awareness of anaphylaxis, and…

One question that I have had for one of the longest times has to be, which civil war regiment won the battle of Gettysburg? Now this question has been in my mind mainly because I am sort of a history buff and have had an interest in things like this for a long time. My first move was to just pose the question online, in this case i asked the question on google. When i did a google search a lot of what came up was the 1st Minnesota line Infantry Regiment, no other regiments seem to show up when i searched it up on google. I was thinking that I would see the 20th Maine for what they did at Little round top…

The first website I found belongs to The National World War Two Museum of New Orleans. The museum was founded by Stephen E. Ambrose, who spent many years covering, researching and writing about the war. The site, as well as the museum, is managed by the staff with the help of many outside volunteers under the close watch of its board of trustees’. The museum has many collaborations and partnerships with other museums and universities. This collaboration allows the museum the opportunity to constantly change and continually update the exhibits.…

The party that I chose to evaluate was the Illinois Green Party. I chose to evaluate this website because I wanted to see how a 3rd party would match up to the Democratic and Republican pages. At first glance, the page does seem to be a little outdated, however it was much better than I anticipated. Because the Green Party is a lesser known party, I expected a late 90s themed website that was hard to navigate. On the homepage there were links for people to get involved with the party, as well as places to donate.…

Internet Bibliography I chose Andrew Jackson as my topic for my internet bibliography. I singled out this topic because I had discovered a few intriguing facts about Andrew Jackson in the past, and I was interested in learning the details of them. Also, I wanted to study more about our 7th President. I’ve been under the impression that he was an avid duelist, and that Andrew Jackson used his own cane to assault a man, who tried to assassinate him. I wanted to know the specifics about both of these events, consequently I decided to broaden my horizon on Andrew Jackson’s life.…

The website I choice was the Smithsonian’s site on the Star-Spangled Banner and the Flag That Inspired the National Anthem. It was created by the Smithsonian National Museum of American History; and I can infer it was created to publicize the War of 1812 and how it led to the creation of our National Anthem. The website includes a variety of audio and visual material, such as the painting of the USS Chesapeake Captured (The War of 1812), and the portrait of Francis Scott Key (A Moment of Triumph). Along with the pictures, the site includes an MP3 file for the 19th Century of the Star-Spangled Banner. At first glance, the site seemed to be a virtual tour of the War of 1812; however, the site contains a plethora of interact material.…
