There is an ongoing research debating about the correlation between ADHD and smoking mothers. Researchers Sharon Milberger, Joseph Biederman, Stephan V. Faraone, Lisa Chen, and Janice Jones conducted a study to analyze the positive connection of ADHD and smoking mothers. The study, Is Material Smoking During Pregnancy a Risk Factor for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder in Children? was published in 1996 by The American Journal Of Psychiatry. Although the research offered some validity to the smoking argument for ADHD it left much speculation and unanswered questions that need to be addressed.
