It is a little known fact that 1 out of 20 ( age 4-17) in the U.S have ADHD symptoms. Boys tend to have it more than girls. (ADHD) is a disorder that stands for, Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder this is a chronic condition that affects millions of children and often stays until adulthood. ADHD includes a combination of problems, such as difficulty sustaining attention, hyperactivity and impulsive behavior. Medication can help but, you have to find the right one in order to control this disorder. These medications can have serious effects on kids if you don't find the right one. Do to the numbers of children taking these medications and suffering the side effects, society would be better off without it.

The medication can cause kids to lose their appetite, stunted growth, loss of sleep and, cause them to be withdrawn“ Kids will not follow directions , attend to forget daily activities “( Clare ).What this quote states is that kids get hyper and, attend to get distracted very easily. …show more content…
“ ( ADD).This shows that when kids aren't on medication it can affect their grades, they tend to get in trouble in school, because they have a hard time paying attention. Unfortunately, medicating these kids can cause such severe side effects that it may make things worse!
