I totally agree with your argument; the diagnosis of ADHD and medication for children diagnosed with this condition has been blown out of proportion. There are many controversies regarding the diagnosis of this condition. Much have been the pediatricians who have made a wrong diagnosis. A study by Michigan State found that about one million children in this country have been misdiagnosed with ADHD, (Henion & Elder, 2010). Not all energetic children have attention deficit disorder. There are other serious conditions and environmental factors that can trigger behavioral problems and attention, including even the type of food.
