Passionflower

Passionflower (Passiflora incarnata) can be effective in calming children with ADHD. Those sixteen years of age and older should take 100 to 200 mg twice a day. Children ages ten through fifteen should take 50 to 100 mg twice daily. Children under ten should be given 25 to 50 mg twice daily.

St Johns Wort

If your child is depressed, Saint-John’s-wort (Hypericum perforatum) may help. Children ages ten through fifteen should take 5° to 150 mg twice a day. Children under ten should take 25 to 75 mg twice a day. Adolescents and young adults who are sixteen and older can take 100 to 300 mg twice a day.

Ginkgo Biloba

This toxicity will have come from many possible sources and include heavy metal toxicity, traffic fumes, food flavourings and colourings and preservatives, prescribed or OTC medications (which may or may not have been taken for ADHD), pesticides to name but a few.

Of course we are all exposed to these and would all do better if we did not have them in our system but for a child with ADHD, who is already struggling, this can be a major factor.
