The checklist serves as a guide to assist the agency in identifying accessibility problems and solutions in existing facilities in order to meet the obligation under the ADA. The accessible spaces are identified by a sign showing the international symbol of accessibility however they are not at least 60 inches above the ground. Of the total parking space, they are located on the closet accessible route to the accessible entrance. The accessible route crosses a curb and a curb ramp is provided and at least 36 inches wide.
The doorways at the Home throughout the facility are accessible. The international symbol of accessibility is displayed and used throughout the facility. At the Home there is a least one section of the counter at the information booth that is no higher than 36 inches above the floor. The seating spaces for individual in wheelchairs are provided at fixed counters with clear floor space provided. However, there are two chairs positioned at every CSR window counter.
At the Home, there are retractable stanchions located throughout the facility that reduce the clear width of an accessible route or maneuvering space. The ground and floor surface along the Home accessible routes and accessible spaces are stable, firm, and slip-resistant.
