ABC Improv Game

Meg raises her hand, "How about we play the 'ABC Improv' game?"
"I second Meg's idea!" Tay shouts out.
"And I third it!" Syd follows.
Ms. Porter responds saying, "Alright, explain the game to the class, Meg, and I'll be back at the end. Have fun." Ms. Porter exits the room.
"Alright everyone, since we are clearly not going to do that game, how about we dim down the lights from the lighting booth and tell some scary stories?" We all just shrug and just go along with it and all sit around in a circle on stage. Nick, Meg's ex-boyfriend, dims down the lights to where I can barely see two feet in front of me. I'm not a big fan of the dark because we never know what could be lurking in the shadows, just beyond our sight of view. Zach sits down next to me, closer than I would have expected him to. John Moore’s production of Sweeny Todd was a refreshing take on the classical tale. The artists brought to life a convincing dark comedy on how revenge and violence can consume a person until they are blinded by it. I believe the artists not only wanted to elicit a response from the audience but also leave them with a warning about the horrors of revenge and the importance of letting go of what is hurting your heart and soul. First, for the most part the musical accomplished their purpose. The audience from start to finish was enthralled by the production.…

I was fortunate enough to be able to attend a production of ''The Diviners,'' on Sunday, March the Nineteenth. The performance was put on by the Calhoun Community College theatre department. The play was staged in the black box theatre of The Alabama Center for the Arts in Decatur, Alabama. It was an impressive performance especially when considering the size and arrangement of the stage. Even with such limitations, the cast were able to turn the stage into a window into prohibition era Indiana.…

Most bullets, while life changing, only directly impact a select few. Yet one would alter the fate of a country whose values were already being tested. Thousands shed their blood for two different visions of a better tomorrow, and just when the clouds had began to subside, bringing on a single shining ray, one more would suffer the transition between life and death. Despite this, his duties were not yet done, and there is still a wrenching hole that his works could have saved. For the parishes of American society, such as gun violence and racism, could have been prevented by the continued life of one man: Abraham Lincoln.…

RJ Mischo & Zach Bramhill at Biscuits and Blues Hidden in the crowded area of Mason Street San Francisco was what seemed to be a average little room covered in vinyl records and art work know as Biscuits and Blues. As soon as I walked in to the almost silent room, I was greeted by a younger gentlemen asking me if I had ever been to a Blues show before to which I replied “No”, his smiled widened when he responded with “then you are in for a treat”. I paid my $20 admission, with those prices I knew I truly was in for a “treat”, as I walked downstairs the atmosphere instantly became dimmer and the music made its debut in full force. The waiter immediately leads me to a table and as I trail behind her I notice the entire room is dim except for the stage light that illuminate the entire area. As soon as I sit down there is a transition of the lights, they turn from a bright yellow to a calm blue signaling the change between a previously upbeat song to a more relaxed one.…

The video that you shared for us to watch, I thought, was extremely intriguing. The two men were remarkably calm and collected and showed no fear at all even though they were improvising a whole song. I found myself smiling thinking about how amazing it would be to do something like that and show no unease in my performance. The articles were also interesting because they explained the science of the fear we have and it gave very sincere discussions from people who deal with fear in many different forms. I thought it was a brave task for Charlie to post a video discussing his fear of not being liked by his viewers, and through his fans he learned that he is not alone.…

In Hamlet , Shakespeare utilizes the characterization of the ghost of King Hamlet to convey significant and climatic messages to the protagonist who , based on the information that is provided , carries out major plot - shifting developments . This leads the reader to make the connection to all that the protagonist does within the text and the initial meeting between the younger and elder Hamlet . It could be fairly speculated that the actions that are taken by the ghost of King Hamlet's character bring about the death of five separate people , all of whom died with different relations to King Hamlet . The ghost's appearance sets the revenge plot into motion , but it also delays the play ' s action . Shakespeare uses this method of solemnity…
