Everyone wants their shining moment where the multitude of people shouts your name and applaud you for your accomplishment, whatever it may be. How do you land this moment? Why is it so enjoyable and envious? We are praised when we’re younger for simply spelling our name or even using the bathroom. As we age, less and less of what we execute seems to astound people. Basic doesn’t cut it anymore. If you desire that moment you must compel yourself to push harder, give in the extra work, and long for it more than any other contender. Up until high school, I’d never needed to endeavor much at school or sports. Moving up to what seemed equivalent to the major leagues gave me a exhaustive alternative mindset.. I craved that moment again. …show more content…
I love everything about it; the players, the coaches, the intensity, the competition, etc. I toiled at it since the third grade where everyone’s a victor in AAU, Amateur Athletic Union. As years elapsed my skills increased which allowed me to undergo an inordinate offer when I first moved to high school. For summer varsity basketball tournaments I was the only freshman girl who was requested to join. It came so effortlessly just as it always had. I hadn’t expected to play abundantly, which was smart on my part; I sat roughly all throughout the day. I didn’t have the highest of hopes for the day, but this was undeniably a let down. Never in my career had I not started a game. Now I was barely getting a few minutes in the entire game. Yearning for more minutes I would undertake anything at …show more content…
Continuously throughout the season I would each game receive progressively more time. Our team’s concluding game of the year was when I acquired the greatest of news. I was going to quarter, which meant I would play less of my JV game to have extra time in the varsity game. All of my dedication and concentrated work pursuing my dream was successful! My friends were genuinely supportive and cheered me on every minute I was involved in. This was my shining moment I’d been dreaming

I was determined to prove to myself that I could play this game. As I was playing my first season, my sister was playing her last. I wanted to improve my skills and be my own player, not only be known as the varsity captain’s little sister. I was exhausted every day after practice, however I eventually gained a deeper understanding of the game and grew to love it. Over the next three years I moved up the team ladder playing on both JV and varsity as a sophomore, finally moving up to varsity as a junior and senior.…

As children, our parents shape our ideas and opinions. When I was a child I thought Texas A&M was the only university my parents would let me attend based on the way they talked about it. I thought that they would not help pay for my college if I went anywhere else. It was not until I was in high school that I realized that Texas A&M was the only university I wanted to attend. I would like to study at Texas A&M to continue my family tradition, for the opportunities it offers after graduation and to be admitted to the dental school with a great education behind me.…

In the past four years, I have had many experiences with family, friends and an extreme amount of clubs, activities, and home life occasions I am involved in. But in all honesty sports have taught me a lot about people, life and even myself. I have been a part of many teams in my lifetime and played several abstract sports, but at Summit Academy High School the sports are very unique. There are mixed attitudes towards the teams, players and coaches that you would not see at any other school. But I like to call them obstacles and challenges.…

I decided to attend Florida A&M University (FAMU) for a variety of reasons, including the location of its campus, because I was offered a full scholarship, and of course, because of the pharmacy program. Moreover, I believe that I am the ideal candidate for being a part of FAMU’s pharmacy program. To begin, FAMU is located in Tallahassee, Florida, a city that I had wanted to attend college in since I was in elementary school. Tallahassee is a city of containing and surrounded by many events and opportunities, so no matter your preferred “scene,” you are likely to be able to find something you do. Another upside to FAMU’s location is that it also places me very close to my mother and the rest of my maternal family, who I had previously not gotten to see almost since elementary school.…

Heartbreak and hours of crying–that was the aftermath of finding out I didn’t make the travel basketball team in the fifth grade. I started playing recreational basketball for Montville in the third grade; since then, I had dominated the competition as I hit my growth spurt earlier than most of my friends. Not only was I taller than most of the kids I played with, but I was also faster and stronger. Coming into the tryout, I was confident in my abilities and believed that I would make the team. Upon finding out the results of the tryouts, I was devastated and felt cheated because I thought I was better than some of the kids that made the team.…
