When I read the case vignette, there was no thought of a dysfunctional individual. Stated in NASW code of ethics, a social worker doesn’t judge or blame a person for their hardship. We are trained to be their advocate when is needed. An individual or anyone can fall on hard times, become depressed because of the circumstances that are happening in their life. Counselors are obligated to follow these sets of guidelines on a daily basis, in and out of the workplace, and will be reprimanded for violating any given rule. Currently I am interning at East Coast Counseling here in Greenville, NC.…
The DEC and NAEYC codes of ethics exposed some important reminders of why I truly want to be part of a profession that place important values when considering all children, all families investing in the early childhood (EC) field and individuals willing working within this field to increase the quality care that govern our profession. I have worked within this field in various capacities that made me question the individuals I worked for and how I viewed and valued the (EC) profession. The DEC codes in particular discuss the enhancement of children’s and families quality of life when investing in child care development. Under this code #2 we should be able to identify professionals that recognize the responsibility to improve the developmental…

From the NASW Code of Ethics I am choosing to reflect my understanding of service and social justice (English, 2005). From my experience and knowledge, I feel that I have an overall strong understanding of these two ethical principles. Throughout my life I have understood that people need service for things to get done. Service ultimately is needed to make change and to help people no matter the situation they are in. For social justice, I understand that to make change happen we must take a stand for what we believe is right.…
