I think support groups are an important mode of treatment it’s a special type of “ support group” yes family members, friends, health care providers and co-workers could be a source of the support group but nothing like a group of supporter who have or still is going through the same path he/she went through. Because people who when through the same path knows how it feels, how hard it is, and all the hardship of keeping your sobriety their four they are not going to give up on you or be judgmental of your situation. The other kind of supporters are good to have but they might not understand each step an alcoholic goes through to stay sober since they have not been in the same
