A1C Jolley: A Career In The Air Force

Superior Essays
A1C Jolley, we’ve had many feedback sessions on your career in the Air Force. After discussing your goals and aspirations, I’ve developed a deliberate development plan. This plan is going to help your professional and personal growth over time. You’ve been in the Air Force for one year and had A1C on for two months. You excelled at completing your upgrade training tasks and CDC’s two months ahead of schedule. Now that you received your 5 level and moved into the Journeyman phase of your career it’s time to explore additional duties, educational needs, and professional growth. As a Pharmacy Journeyman, your roles and responsibilities increase and sometimes that can be overwhelming. However, as your supervisor, it’s my responsibility to …show more content…
Although you’re still unsure if you’re going to reenlist, I've identified future roles for this enlistment. First I’ll send you to the Education office to establish a list of classes to complete your Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) degree within the next two years, if not sooner. If you choose to stay in completing your CCAF will open doors for special duty assignments in the future. Also, you can use it as a stepping stone to Pharmacist school. I would recommend taking classes online to complete your CCAF, with this method you have control over your work, everything is standardized and structured complimenting your mildly adaptive style. As a matter of fact using your advancer skills, you’ll be an essential part of class projects by boosting classmates ideas. Equally important is your professional military education (PME). Every quarter you’ll take a class to augment your military skills. Focus on public speaking, bullet writing, leadership improvement, and a must is the Airman’s Professional Enhancement Seminar (PES), which is three days. These are just a few there are numerous opportunities for professional growth. Enhancing your personal and professional education builds confidence and teaches you how to conduct yourself in different situations. You’ll test for staff this enlistment, and since you'll know your study habits curtailed with your PME classes, …show more content…
You’ll be close to your cognitive style of mildly adaptive due to their structured environment and repetitive assignments. This opportunity allows you to use your advancer skills by being energetic and support of team goals. Although there might be cognitive gaps, they're small due to the particular way ceremonies have to be accomplished. Honor Guard will give you a sense of pride but will remind you of the sacrifice we as military members make. Furthermore, certain ceremonies are aired nationwide, which means the Air Force benefits through free advertisement. You’ll be a walking Air Force billboard, promoting the Air Force to the world. Honoring our fallen heroes will revive your core values and strengthen your role in our Profession of

As honors students, we thrive on achievements. Tangible achievements are what, for many of us, ensure that we have accomplished our goals. For this reason, when I learned about the “Honor Cadet of the Flight” award at Civil Air Patrol Encampment, I was determined to achieve it. I tried extremely hard and made sure that everything I did displayed nothing less than excellence throughout the week. Because I was so determined to achieve that award, the setback came across disconcerted me greatly.…

Sometime ago I was discussing with some peers about the difference between a ‘job’ in the Air Force vs. ‘career.’ Many of us when asked ‘What do you do?’ respond by stating what specific duty we fulfill in the Air Force, however, at the end of the day, we are all airmen. Airmanship is at the core of what it means to be a member of the United States Air Force. Being an Airman is professing your occupation as a member of the Air Force, and therefore, must possess a level of selflessness, a sense of pride, and that your efforts serve the greater good.…

“The magic happens when you step outside your comfort zone.” This proverb sums up everything I went through when I recently attended the Air Force Academy’s Summer Seminar in July. While there, I was pushed well beyond my limits. We, the attendees, did strenuous physical training sessions at roughly a mile above sea level, woke up before the sun rose, attended sample classes, and studied tons of military knowledge while learning about the Air Force Academy and the admission process. It was truly a challenge being there, and I loved every minute of it!…

Before the summer of my sophomore year, I had not thought about my post high school plans beyond knowing I would like to attend college. However, I attended a STEM camp at Valparaiso University in Indiana where I met former astronaut and Naval Academy graduate, Ken Ham. He inspired me to not only begin my own flight training, but to start investigating the Naval Academy. The more I learned about the Naval Academy and the different opportunities that serving as an officer in the military presented, the more determined I became to attend. I understand that the decision to attend a service academy is not to be taken lightly.…
