It wasn't until the beginning of sophomore year that I had begun to think seriously about writing. My teacher at the time was a spirited old man, with an excellent taste in literature. He was one of my greatest inspirations, as he had helped guide me in the right direction (when it came to English anyways). I remember very distinctly that we were given an assignment that essentially called for an ABAB formatted poem, and with that we had to write about something that captivated us most, I wrote about the moon of course. While it wasn't the slightest bit challenging to write about the moon, I really put forth quite a bit of effort. I wanted my readers to feel my passion, and connection with what I was writing about.
