The first reason I believe prepaid cell phones could do particularly well in the Ivory Coast is because of the sudden spike of wealth and stability. People are rising up from poverty very quickly, and will soon find themselves with money to spend. One such thing they may want to purchase is a cell phone, to help them stay connected to their businesses and their families. A prepaid cell phone might carry less risk for the people of the Ivory Coast who are just starting out, and those who feel they will only need one for some time don’t have to commit to a long contract. Second, new investors and business people from other countries might need temporary cell phones while they perform business in West Africa without incredible charges from using their current phone. A third reason that influenced me to choose this service is the rising interest in technology in the Ivory Coast.
