Is it really fair to not let women become their full potential based on something so ridiculous as gender? This is something people need to think about when they think about feminism. So many girls in developing countries are taught that their role is to stay at home and in other words, do absolutely nothing with their life. Feminism plays a huge role in this topic because the goal of the movement is to show girls that they should have the opportunity to do so much more with their lives. They should not let their lives be controlled by men who want nothing but the worst for them. If women were considered equal, then they wouldn’t be having important decisions being made for them without having a say. We need feminism for every time an innocent girl is sent home and has her education disrupted because her outfit was “distracting the boys”. We need feminism because we teach women how to prevent rape, instead of teaching people to not view women as objects. Lastly, we need feminism because patriarchy is still alive and well in this world and it won’t be going anywhere unless we finally put an end to it.
