A Woman of Strength The person who has impacted me in so many ways is my oldest sister, Elizabeth Michelle Martinez. Liz is my role model. She is kind, helpful, hard-working and one heck of a cheerleader to inspire you to do your best. When I was in the 4th grade, I got the skin disease known as vitiligo. It is a disease when your immune system gets weaker by the loss of white blood cells. Due to that, I lost pigmentation in my skin all over my body. I got really paranoid of what the other kids would think of me, so Liz came to me and told me, “The only person's opinion that matters about your skin, is yours.” It was as if reality just slapped me in the face. My confidence went up entirely and now I learned to embrace my differences. I remember
