A vivid memory that will forever be imbedded in my brain. The first steps I had taken in a while as I walked In my house. The year of hard work and pain had finally paid and when I experienced this moment I knew it was all worth it. After weeks of daily training to walk it happened I took more than one step with no help and I stayed standing. I walked down the hallway struggling with my footing on a wobbly leg but I had done it under my own control. I walked through the door of my house that I had not been in for a week and saw my moms face light up as she saw me walk in the door. Her pure joy was shown in her face and through her reaction as she saw me for the first time walking on my own.

My mom looked down and could not believe what she saw there was nothing but a leg and no crutch under my arm. As she realized that this was real her phone dropped from her hand and crashed into the hard tile floor ending her conference call with a crash. Tears streamed down her face as she ran towards me and embraced my weak body with hug that seemed to last forever. For the first time in a while I could see real pure joy on her face as this huge burden was lifted from her heart. In that moment I could see in her eyes the words that could not come out of her quivering mouth. Her tear filled glimmering eyes look at me with the most profound look that told how proud, overjoyed, and relieved that this moment made our lives. This day and moment will forever be one of the greatest days of mine and my families life. The image of my mom's face remains a vivid memory in my mind the exact moment the sounds and the feelings are embedded. The pure joy on her face is a look that I have seen few times in my life and one that I will never forget as my life was changed on that

We feel like we can describe everything that took place, who was there, what time it was, and what the weather was like.
