What Is A Visit To Paris Essay

"Travel as much as you can, as far as you can and as long as you can; life is not meant to be lived in one place." Some want to visit somewhere special around the world once in a lifetime whereas some already have. A special place I have visited is a gorgeous city with stunning views. It is a city with mouth-watering food and elegant restaurants and many sidewalk cafes. It is also very special to me since my aunt and my cousins live there. I 'm talking about the city of lights, parks, world famous buildings and monuments, fashion, cuisine, and wonderful language, Paris. Paris has many wonderful sights, like the world famous Eiffel Tower. The view from the top of the Eiffel tower is overwhelming. It is possible to have a glimpse of the lovely …show more content…
I love my aunt; we have an emotional attachment as I was the first child from my dad 's side. The best part of visiting Paris was we had a home to stay in. We stayed there for about two months. We came to Paris on the first week of December and left in February. Eating from outside for two whole months can be a little depressing, but I didn 't have to worry about that because my mom or my aunt were there to make me anything I want to eat .I 'm glad to be fortunate enough to have an option to pick and choose between home food and the restaurant food. Staying with my cousins was pleasurable and enjoyable. They taught me little French, and I tested my broken French on the restaurant workers. Sometimes they knew what I was saying, however, subsequently they had no idea. Overall from all the places I 've been to, Paris is my unique place I have visited for many reasons. I 'm hoping to go visit my aunt again after graduation. I went to Paris about ten years ago, so some of the memories have faded away. This time I have a very special reason to go visit the country, because my cousin 's wedding is coming up. I 'm very excited and hopefully I can make some memories that will reside with me for my whole life. Traveling is very important because the world is a book and those who do not travel read only one

What does it truly mean to be intellectual? Some may say that being intellectual means being book smart, while others say that it is being street smart. In an entry of “Hidden Intellectualism” by Gerald Graff, Graff believes that one can actually become intellectual if they start learning about topics they actually enjoy and then slowly start easing into challenging topics. While many argue that intellectualism is limited to the studies of school, non-academic activities such as traveling and truly experiencing these events can teach one about the history of a place, the culture, and how to solve problems. When asked why people decide travel they just say that they travel for vacation, but what they do not realize is that traveling is a learning experience.…

France is big on food, art, architecture, and outdoors. One thing I would do is taste test a bunch of foods. French food is very fancy and a lot of it is seafood dishes. Some dishes that I would enjoy to try are Baked Camembert, Margret de Canard, Buckwheat Crepes, Cheese Souffle, and Pot-au-feu. Another thing that I would like to do is buy tickets to a soccer game to see how the French play.…

Other than feeling unwelcomed during a few interactions in Paris, she said it was a wonderful experience and she would love to return. She also went on to explain that the sense of history in the architecture was something that struck an emotional chord within her and was something that she would miss upon her return. “Just the intricacies and detail put into the construction of those buildings was like nothing I’ve ever experienced in the United…

In order to understand the lives of the working class in Paris in the 19th Century, it is necessary to understand how their lives were not simply shaped by larger influences such as the economic forces of capitalism or the regulating role of the state. Instead, it is important to unveil how the city itself spatialized and constructed social and gender difference for the working class, while they, in a mutually constitutive manner shaped modes of sociability in the city. Analysis of the works by Faure, Ferguson, Haine, and Ross, makes clear that Shane Ewan’s three features of urban history are vital to a discussion of the working class. The use of interdisciplinarity, ‘history from below’ and the city-as-agent elucidate the hidden history of the working class and their daily relationships with their environment and each other. The working class in Paris created a family, community and…

Many people wish to travel the around the world and meet new places. I would say that the destination you are going to is important, but who you are going with on the trip is crucial. Some people make excellent traveling companions, while others not so much. Two characters that would make great traveling companions would be Montresor from “The Cask of Amontillado” by Edgar Allan Poe and Arnold Friend from “Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been” by Carol Joyce Oates. They would travel to Las Vegas where they would take advantage of vulnerable people.…
