Form a very young age, Antoine Leroy Sims feel in love with American Football. His love for the sport, determination and self-discipline lead him to a Honorable Mention All American, and first team all state district and city. several American Football awards and awarded him the opportunity to attend the University of Louisville a division one school on a full football scholarship. He went onto join the Fayette County Police Department as a school Law Enforcement Officer and Head Football Coach of his alma mater, Tates Creek High School. He credits his desire to coach at his alma mater to that of his high school football coaches, Coach Ruddell and Coach Alcorn, two transformational leaders.
During the interview with Coach Sims we begin our interview by discussing the organization including the structures in place and his role as the leaders within the organization. Next, the topic of the leader’s role was introduced and topics such as his leadership style and lessons were discussed. The interview concluded with questions around leadership reflection based on where he is currently or had to deal with in the past, and how these issues affect him as a leader. The interview analyzes in this paper will be presented in the same format.

He made a statement in direct contradiction to the Great Man Theory of Leadership,“ I don’t think people are born leaders, leaders are groomed, you have to learn how to lead.” The Great Man Theory (Northhouse 2016) centers around the key components that you are either born a leader or you are not, those that are born a leader lead and those that are not do not lead.
