22 Feb, 2016 In the text “A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings: A Tale for Children” by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, a man with Large wings falls from the sky into the courtyard of a husband and wife with a sick child. The “angel” is then, taken in by the husband and wife and used as an attraction for money by the pair until the “angel” gains the strength to fly away. Marquez uses symbolism, and irony in order to convey the corruption of the Catholic Church and people.
