With the patriots point of view they believed that the British troops were sent to America to threaten us and cause violence (Learning English). Innocent people were killed in the Boston Massacre because of the Britain troops causing trouble to the colonists. If the British troops were not in Massachusetts, then the tensions would not have been there, and the killing of innocent people may have not taken place. The colonists should have the right to resist against unjust laws like the Stamp Act, because it interfered with every aspect of the colonists lives (Staff). They believed that this act took away their independence within their lives and took away any economic strength they held. Looking at England you can understand some of their thoughts on the national debt. During the French and Indian War, England had great national debt in an effort to protect the colonies (Learning English). They thought by putting taxes on the colonies that they could reduce some of this debt because they now have more land to protect. Although you can understand what England wanted, the colonists did their part in fighting the war. They fought long and hard alongside England.
