My First-Personal Narrative

I will never forget how devastated I was in Grand Rapids, Michigan. It was exciting at first, the long car ride (I love long car rides because I love the snacks we get), then the hotel, and then the twist of fate. Before I tell what happened, I need to explain everything that led up to it. This experience helped me realize that not everyone is FIRST.
On my way back from my dad’s house my dad seemed a little on edge. I asked him what’s wrong and he said he was disappointed in me. I asked why and he said it was because I didn’t tell him about my skating competition in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I felt bad, but I told him about it the second I found out i was going (about eight months earlier). I didn’t know what day in august, but I said it was

When I walked in I was excited because I was really tired. My grandma went to the front desk and my mom and I saw this sign that said Welcome State Game Of America Figure Skaters. My mom took my picture next to the sign. After my grandma was done talking the the person at the front desk we went up to our room and my grandparents went to bed. I stayed up and stretched, went through my program (the one that I am going to perform tomorrow), and I was on my phone for about half an hour before I went to bed.
‘‘Ana! Ana! Get up and get ready for skating!’’my mom yelled right in my ear to wake up. I am a light sleeper and a morning person so she didn’t have to yell.
I got up found my dress; which was easy considering it was white and covered in glitter and put it on. Next I put on sweatpants and a sweatshirt, so when I put on my makeup I don’t get any on it. While I put on my makeup my mom did my hair. She first made me put my hair in a really high and tight ponytail and then put the bun maker

Once it was my turn I was so nervous. I got in my spot and got started. The only thing that I think I wasn’t exceptional at was my mazurkas. Once I was done I waited until my coach said to get off the ice and wait for the results, so I waited for almost an hour until they posted them. I remember my mom wanting to come with me to check the results, but I told her sit there and let me check and I will tell her when I get back.
I walked into the locker room where the results were posted and looked for my name...fourth place. My heart dropped and my face got really hot. I walked over to my mom and I tried super hard not to cry.
“Good job Ana,” my grandma said. I wanted to say no I was awful. I have never got fourth place before. I have only ever got first or second in skating.
After I told my family we left and went back to the hotel and I changed out of my skating stuff. My mom said we should go shopping. So my mom, grandma, and I went shopping at the mall while my grandpa took a nap in the hotel room. We went to a lot of stores and my mom got me a ton of new clothes. We were shopping for over five hours. When we were done shopping we went back to pick up my grandpa so we could go to dinner. We went to olive garden for dinner and it was

I would just like to start this journal by saying how unbelievably proud I am of everyone involved in Sears. This was my first time ever doing something in Sears because I’ve always played on the school hockey team and due to the timing, it’s always on or the other. This being said, while I have been in shows before, I’ve never directed or been involved in the rehearsal process without being in the cast, so seeing the way our cast grew was amazing and awe inspiring. I couldn’t have asked for better people to work with and extremely honoured that I got to work with them. One cast member I would particularly like to highlight is Nicole Shi, who played Meg.…

During the actual practice I was very focused on not messing up and hitting the key points. However, once I was finished and recapping over the session I realized both strengths I have developed and challenges I still need to work on. This experience showed me what I have have learned thus far in class and also what I still have to learn.…
