She makes dancing looks easy, delightful, and glamorous; she is such an awesome choreographer to watch on stage. She seems to invest every bit of herself into her dance and with a unique style of execution. She controls the floor and flexed her muscles in such a perfect way that one begins to wonder if she has bones in her body. Something else that stands out is that she doesn’t struggle with any movement, regardless of how difficult it seem; in fact, she uses the same energy, vigor, and focus in all of her performances- she does have a penetrating gaze.
In conclusion, Graham remains a phenomenon when it comes to dance and choreography, her success could be attributed to the self invented contraction and release technique as well as its uniqueness. It is therefore not surprising that her philosophy and style are still very much in effect long after she died. There is also the Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance which is still the longest continuously operating school of dance in the United States.
