The rain had poured down on the streets of Chicago at four in the morning. There was silence save for the sound of the heavy rain and the one or two cars that were coming home from their graveyard shifts at the local bars or the family of five taking their trip to some other far off location. No one was around to hear the sounds of crying, screaming. The sound of someone’s kneecaps being broken with a baseball bat.
“N-no! Please!” The man cried, his body badly beaten and maimed, his knees were broken from being savagely beaten. Blood was slowly dripping down the side of his face where he was hit multiple times in his left eye.
“You should’ve thought about this before you came back to me with no money.” Another man, the one wielding …show more content…
“Eh, George, we really should go now.” The goon spoke up again.
“Why? What is the problem?” George asked, turning to see a small girl, holding a stuffed bunny rabbit tightly to her small body, watching with blank eyes. Her brown hair was disheveled and her cheeks were red and puffy as if she had been asleep in the back of the car the whole time. She must’ve been awakened by the sound of brutality going on outside.

Emily, I’m going to pay you back with interest!” The man was so terrified he was brought down to his knees, practically begging for Emily to forgive him. “Oh you poor, sweet man. I sympathize with you, I really do. A sick child, barely scraping by, you and your wife probably working two low-end jobs getting paid less than minimum wage. I bet you both have to take double shifts so you can make up the money to put your son up in the hospital.” Her voice sounded sincere, worried about his families well-being. The beautiful brunette, knelt down to the man’s level, taking his hands in hers. “I’m so sorry about your tragic situation.” She helped him to stand up again, still holding his hands in hers. The man stopped shaking, seeming less terrified than before. A slight glimmer of hope in his eyes that she would have mercy on him, after all she did sound truly sincere. “Don’t worry about paying interest as well, my good man. I will talk to my father and make him understand.” Emily said with a sweet
