According to the system they all mature at the same age, when it is completely ridiculous because they are not dealing with your “average” child. For example, let state that there was a child at the age of 16 who suffered through neglect, that child has 2 years to “cope” with neglecting. There should not be a time frame on healing wound, because there will still remain a scar. Physical, sexual abuse, neglect, foster care, etc. is not minor things its lifelong problems there should be somewhat of life-long support services. Without the correct support system for the juveniles, it will create them more negative effects on their life for example them becoming homeless. Once they become homeless they will have a criminal record for public intoxication, sleeping at the park, etc. with will lead them to go to being incarcerated. The children who are born into the system have that urge of having a normal life, that desire. Every child that receives support services from the system will no longer receive service once they reach the age of 18. These services include finical, educational, social and otherwise. The children in the system have a difficult time coping with support, due to them not permanently having the moral support within the family. With this support that an average peer would have helps them develop a high independence state in their brains which is normally developed at age 25. Once the juvenile ages out of system, that transitional affect doesn’t quite hit as it is sapost to. Once that affect doesn’t take into play, this creates more of a negative effect on them. Basically re-opening a wound that was a scar already. We need to invest more time, thought, and money of youth aging out of the system. These resources should be available to all states and for better results one should extend those services available to them after they turn 18. Once the juveniles turns 18 they have many mixed emotions, them not being adopted and re feeling those same emotions of neglect when they first come
