Many girls just go with the flow so that they do not cause any problems for others. They do not want to a burden anyone, but most of the time, it is not our fault. Boys are always taught as they grow up to be loud, noisy, confident, and they can do whatever they want to do. Many men never think what they do to women is wrong, and that women are just being over dramatic. “Children learn that it is a worse crime for a girl to make a fuss than it is for a boy to touch her sexually against her will,” (Bates). When boys do something wrong at a young age they are never truly discipline. Boys are just told that they did a bad thing, which is just like a slap on the wrist, but no punishment to show them what was wrong. Just because they are male, what gives them the right to be be loud, rude, or abusive to girls/women? Many men think they will never get caught or punished when assaulting a girl. Boys should be taught at a young age that women should be treated with kindness and respect, but not only that, men should also be polite citizen and coworkers.
Our society has started losing respect for women and themselves. Women have lost respect sexually by men. Through the loss of that respect, women have gotten used to being polite, used by men, and unable to succeed in the job market because that is the man’s job. Parents and future parents need to realize the dramatic changes needed in the behaviors of both women and men. Take charge and change the
