Have you ever judged someone just because they looked different or didn't want to include themselves in that environment? In the book “A Summer In a Day” the author introduces a young girl named margot that was from earth. She now lives in venus and attends school there. She stayed out of most activities of school. She was looked at differently because she didn't want to be with the rest of the kids at school. As a result, she was the one that was an outsider; she was the one that usually got picked on because she was so vulnerable. As we read the story margot tries to explain her memoires of the sun to her classmates but she is ignored and gets picked on.As she tries to explain her memory of the sun the kids fight against her word and think shes lying. “ it's like a penny… no it's not! The children cried.” this quote shows that the kids ignored her even though she was just trying to explain her memories of the sun. …show more content…
It was hard enough coming to a new planet and act like everything is ok when she has to fit in with everyone they have no place to judge a girl that they just met it couldn't be that hard to just to get to know her and actually see the type of girl she really is.the type of feelings she's balancing must be another big factor because of the attitude she puts out and lets other people see that she doesn't wanna be with that environment. Even the setting shows that it was a depressing thought just to be stuck in the rain for that long. I don't know how they could do it without seeing the

All Summer In a Day “She was different and they knew her difference and kept away”... this is what Ray Bradbury writes in his story, All summer in a day. Margot is a girl in this story who wants to be accepted and fit in with the people on venus but she isn't sure how. For example she doesn't defend herself and she doesn't even attempt to try and socialize with the other kids. One reason Margot doesn't fit in and isn't accepted is because *she doesn't defend herself.…

“All Summer in a Day” by Ray Bradbury, is a science fiction short story. Bradbury included a one of a kind setting, superior characterization, and an ending that allowed readers to create their own, using their imagination. The setting was unique and I would have never thought of an imaginable place like Venus. Margot is a shy and frail young girl and we notice this when Bradbury describes that she is an “old photograph” and talks like a “ghost.” Over the years, good short stories and novels have been transitioned into movie adaptation.…

Other signs of anger that is shown towards Margot is when none of the other kids believe her when she tries to explain to them that that was the day that scientists had predicted the sun would finally show. As it says in the book,”’Nothing!’ he cried. ’It was all a joke, wasn’t it?”’ Which explains how just because Margot remembered the sun, they refuse to believe anything she says.…

It rains every day there and no one has seen the sun in a long time, except for a small girl named Margot who is bullied for remembering the sun when the other children don’t. Margot was “a very frail girl who looked as if she had been lost in the rain for years and the rain had washed out the blue from her eyes and the red from her mouth and the yellow from her hair. She was an old photograph dusted from an album, whitened away, and if she spoke at all her voice would be a ghost.” This confirms what Margot looks like. The story hints that something happened to Margot that caused her to be this way.…

For example Margot has seen the sun before with the memory of it because she lived on the earth for 4 years before she actually moved to Venus. She keeps writing poems on how the sun looks like, for example she writes a poem about how the sun is like a flower the blooms for just one hour. She is petty much just telling people how the sun looks to make herself feel better. But the other kids don't really believe that she has been on earth for four years and has seen the sun before with memory of it. Margot gets into a fight arguing with a boy about her seeing the sun.…

Many theories have been proposed on what exactly would take place post nuclear war via multiple works of fiction. Stories like "There Will Come Soft Rains" and even games such as the Fallout series present their own ideas on what the world will be like after it has been engulfed in nuclear fire. These representations are all incredibly interesting and provocative. However, in the story, "Searching for Summer," readers are presented with a world where most have given up hope. Interestingly enough, the story does not go for the "rugged waist-land" stereotype, but instead introduces its readers subtly to the moral and ethical issues that have amassed over the years due nuclear fallout.…

In this story many of the children on Venus are jealous of Margot’s opportunities and previous life on earth. When children are jealous, they turn against Margot. One example is when she is reading the poem, instead of listening to Margot the students shut her down without even listening. Just because students are jealous it does not mean that they can bully Margot. While this is important theme it is easily seen that if it weren’t for Margot not thinking about what she said or did that this wouldn’t have happened, so overall the important point is that it is needed for everyone to take a minute an think about the results in the end from what they…
