n the Andy Griffith show, Opie Taylor was getting bullied. He always walked down the street and had a nickel for milk at lunch. He would go around a corner and there would be this little boy that always stopped Opie. He would ask him if he had his nickle. Opie was scared and didn't know what to do and always gave this kid a nickel. One day Opie asked this boy “what if I don't give you my nickel?” the little boy replied with his fist in Opie face “I'll give you a knuckle sandwich.” So once again Opie gave the boy a nickel. Opie didn't like water and couldn't buy milk because of the bully stealing his nickel every morning on his way to school. So instead of just asking Aunt B for a nickel, he asked his Pa and Aunt B for one. This worked for a little while until Andy (his Pa) found out he started asking them both. …show more content…
So Opie and Andy go and have a little chat. Andy tells him some stories of when he was a kid. Opie though of one of the stories of Andy’s. So the next day Opie stopped by the sheriff's office and drops off some clothes so if he gets roughed up and could go there and clean up. Sad enough to say Opie came home with a black eye and ripped clothes. He was as filthy as a hobo, but Opie Taylor still had his nickel and the bully never messed with him again. Some people say fighting don't solve anything but in this case it solved Opie from stealing a nickel from his family.
