Employers can ensure they comply with the general duty clause requirements under OSHA by simply hiring an OSHA compliance officer. This officer is trained in the latest and most up-to-date OSHA regulations and laws. It is also advisable to hire a general counsel that is familiar with OSHA guidelines and regulations. Both the attorney and the compliance officer can properly train employees on the proper etiquette as it relates to OSHA standards. It is also advisable to have the OSHA regulations posted on an employee notice board.
As with my organization, we are trained on proper usage of equipment and when all else fails, we are trained to contact the compliance officer within the organization for issues. When in doubt, contact the compliance
