A Summary Of John Marston's Trail

One day John Marston was riding on a trail from town back to home. On the way home there were lots of wagons speeding past John with scared looks on their faces. As he got closer to home, he saw smoke coming over the hill right where his house is. So John sped up and his horse was in a full sprint, faster and faster his horse went, but home seemed to be getting farther away. Thirty minutes past till he finally made it home, but it was too late the house was already burned to the ground. He jumped off his horse and ran into the burnt down building. He could smell the smoke and burning wood. After a few moments of pulling burnt plywood off the floors there was no sign of Jess his daughter or Jill his wife, the only thing he saw was a red piece of cloth in a tree.

Later that afternoon word came in that johnny’s gang was camping out in a cave 1.5 miles west. So the Sheriff and John thought that they could sneak attack them at night. So they took some volunteers to help catch the gang and two men said they will help catch them. Later that night they started to ride off after the outlaws, along the way the killed a jack rabbit to eat for dinner. Then after dinner they took off again. Once they got to the campsite, John took the rifle and the men from the village took sawed off shotguns. The sheriff and the men went into the site slowly while John followed about 10 yards behind them to provide cover.

Once the Sheriff got into the campsite, he yelled “it’s a trap.”

Moments later gunshots came from all directions. The sheriff got shot in the leg. So one of the men ran to get him and dragged him behind a rock. He got shot in the back and fell down the mountain.

Johnny yelled “There is no escape, you need to give up.”

John had one of Johnny’s gang member in his sights. So he pulled the trigger and the bandit fell to the ground. Then there was only two of them and two and a half of
