A Summary Of Jim's Story

When it starts, Jim is in the middle of class learning about how to add, subtract and multiply, when the nun turns around a yells, “Which one of you smells like a rotten milk?” Everybody was panicing looking around, the nun walked by each child sniffing up in the air. When she reaches Jim she stops, sniffs again and again. Jim knew it must be him, the nun grabbed his desk and threw it to the ground as everybody laughed at Jim as he started to pick up his belongings. This wasn’t the first time Jim had been in this position, he knew alot about getting made fun of, even at an orphanage. Jim was fighting back tears at the recess yard when everybody was laughing and calling him “Rotten Milk” he wanted a way to fit in, not to be made fun of. …show more content…
Everybody cheering and then he saw the players grab Jeter to celebrate with him. Everybody was saying “The perfect ending to a perfect career.” He could see Jeter wiping tears from his eyes as he was being celebrated throughout the big city of New York.
Jim was in awe. He wanted to learn more and see more of baseball, but most importantly he wanted to play baseball. When he got pack to the orphanage he was determined and he would start to play the next day, if only he had a glove, bat and ball. Chris could see how much he wanted to play and lended his glove and a ball to Jim.
At the recess yard Jim still had nobody to play with. He asked everybody he could find to play with him, but nobody wanted to play. He decided to play with himself, for the remainder of the day, Jim through the ball up in the air, and caught it again. He struggled at first, but with lots of practice he was able to catch the ball realy well. Eventually kids wanted to watch, and he made some freinds and was treated better, not as “Rotten
