A Summary Of Abraham Lincoln's Assassination

John Wilkes Booth was the first person to assassinate a president, in this case it was the death of President Lincoln. Lincoln was assassinated because John Wilkes Booth thought it would benefit the south. Abraham Lincolns assassination was unjust, he was a president and a lawyer trying to emancipate slavery, although others, such as, slave owners saw in their perspective as taking away their labor force therefore they got angry towards Lincoln was assassinated because he was going against the ways of the South and their perspective towards slavery. Lincoln was killed because the south thought Lincoln was taking away their labor force. Lincoln thought that taking away the south’s labor force and bringing it to the North would strengthen their war efforts and weaken the South. Another reason is that Lincoln cared for the slave and hated how they treated them because he knew they were people to so he created the emancipation proclamation to free the slaves. Lincoln wanted to free the slaves because he cared for them and wanted to strengthen the union because the slaves would prove decisive in their war efforts and they would strengthen their army.

Robert E. Lee surrendered the biggest confederate army to the union that same day Lincoln was killed. Lincoln was also wanted to end slavery and make equal rights for blacks which gave Booth another motive because he wanted white supremacy. Lincoln’s assassination was just because he was ruining the system of the South but that wasn’t a valid reason because the ways of the south were inhumane and were involving the killing and discrimination of black people.
