Electroreceptor Sensor Case Study

Underwater electroreceptor sensor The only group to not have an application this was interesting to me. The way I think is a property after I automatically think of an application or solution to that problem. For example when I think of a electroreceptor I would have said possible applications such as a passive way of monitoring the output of electro signals on circuits to see where the a break is and in electric panels to see if the capacitors are discharged. Knowing my thought pattern I would not have went with this application, if that was the case I would not have learned about electrical engineering and not learn from my jumping to applications, through this animal they were able to go outside of their comfort zone and look at the science …show more content…
Initially I was not sure how they would be able to realistically implement all of their ideas into one tent; this approach is very different than ours where we only had two animals. They somehow were able to put all of their ideas into one application. I also thought it was very smart to focus on phase change materials for DP3. I also fill like because of their numerus animals they were able to pick the perfect properties for what they want, while we did some research but not as extensive, so it is possible that we missed the best animal to our application. I believe because of this we were able to spend more time on the finished product. Like the underwater electroreceptor sensor they did not spend as much time as we did on the application spaces. The slides are beautiful. I’m not positive it seems like they had an application head protection, and had to find an animal that allowed them to look at the problem from different angle, they were the only group to do this. They like us but to an even larger extent focus on the operational environment for the helmet not only the head by the regulations and necessary forces to withstand. They also chose to focus more on the possibly of producing a actual product and the performance requirements more than any other group, because of this they did not have a lot of proof of concept. I am not sure which is more important in this stage of design; perhaps everyone else should have spent more time on the possible
