Reflective Essay: The Most Important Study Skills

During the first Study Skills Workshop, we learned countless lessons for college like, "Anytime you don 't complete an assignment it 's considered a failure" or "If you don 't have a clear reason to pursue something, you 'll never be motivated and determined enough to complete it," however I find myself believing the most important piece of advice given was: "Your attitude not your aptitude will determine your altitude." Because it can be easily applied to both your success in school and in real life. Your behavior determines where you go and how much you achieve, its not just how smart you are. If you posses both knowledge (which everyone has) and a positive approach in a university, you have the potential to succeed (be ranked on the Dean 's List) because you find ways to increase your intellect such as developing study skills. And so it was after completing the required classes, making friends right friends and graduating from the Educational Opportunity Program (2016) that I realized before school starts I need to create a study regimen that helps me identify my strengths and weaknesses but also challenges me to improve all lacking aspects of my study. And what better way than using information and resources gathered during each Study Skills session.

Since stress can be harmful to your health. To stop myself from cracking under the pressure of stress, I will most like to try to find something that take my focus away from all my worries. Maybe by joining a school club, hanging out with my friends from time to time, going away for the weekend, reading, or even just spending time with family. In the video (mentioned) tips are to get physical, eat well balanced meals, and avoid negative thoughts. I think this can be helpful but it will take some time to avoid negative thought as I 'm constantly worried about something and some people (my friends) think I 'm a little
