Marching Band a Sport? It takes many hours for band members to memorize the drill for the halftime shows.So should marching band be considered a sport? Marching Band is by definition a sport by the Oxford Dictionary. The definition of a sport is an activity involving physical exertion and skill which an individual or team competes against other or others for entertainment. People say that there is no physical exertion in Marching Band at all, but there is members workout for at least 30 minutes before every practice.
The workouts include at least 4 reps in sets of 10 lunges, squats, lifts, planks,and at least two laps around the football field. In addition band members have to march forward and backward on the practice field for 5 to
