It is a small village with a total population of 650.
All residents aged 13-70 years of both sexes on whom the inclusion criteria applied, were included with a total of 80. (Table 3)
Inclusion and Exclusion criteria Inclusion criteria
Subjects aged (13-70), living in the study area for more than five years and gave their consent to participate, Exclusion criteria if the Subjects were unable to perform lung function tests or was suffering from other respiratory diseases like Known cases of chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases, malignancy and drug addicts or those who are working at the refinery.
Sampling procedure: Residents who met the inclusion criteria were totally covered by house visits
Data collection and data collection tools: A modified (ISAAC) questionnaire was filled by household visits. The questionnaire covered personal data, asthma symptoms, allergies symptoms any treatment, and for some of them ISAAC video was shown to explain the meaning of wheeze. Individuals who answered yes to asthma symptom wheeze were issued a second questionnaire specially designed for asthma patients’ and then their symptoms were further validated by lung function tests. The tests were performed in 3 following visits with only 33 of the 38 asthma symptoms positive individuals accepting the
