Special Forces Warrant Officer Essay

Throughout the past seven years, I have served over five years on a Special Forces Operational Detachment Alpha as a Communications Sergeant and Intelligence Sergeant. I also served over two years as a Company Intelligence Sergeant. During this time, I have been dedicated to upholding the professionalism, reputation, and integrity of the Special Forces Soldier. I have greatly enjoyed the time I have served as a Special Forces NonCommissioned Officer, and I look forward to the potential of serving as a Special Forces Warrant Officer. I want to be a Special Forces Warrant Officer to provide a larger contribution to the force, to be a leader, and to excel in my personal career. The Special Forces community is extremely reliant on the experience of senior Special Forces soldiers such as the Special Forces Warrant Officer. I believe that with the drawdown of the size of the conventional Army and the expansion of the role of Special Operations, that Special Forces will be an integral part of future conflicts. I have completed two combat tours and two Counter Narcotic Terrorism missions while serving on an SFODA. I also have one combat tour while serving as the Company Intelligence Sergeant and have garnered an exceptional amount of experience as both a leader and a soldier. I have served in multiple leadership positions while deployed and in garrison. My experiences as a senior adviser to various units within the Iraqi Security Forces will serve as a great asset to me as a Special Forces Warrant Officer.
