In a small town in the soul of America, everyone in the community lived in peace and structure. The little town was not perfect, yet there was always law and order. Policemen constantly took out the bad guys who came in the city. Whenever a community member needed help, the police officers rushed to save the day. Everyone in the town loved how the policemen did their work. All the little kids wanted to be like them. Ever since the law enforcement grew, the city became more safe. Bank robberies decreased. When bankers pass a police officer in the streets, they would wave and thank them for their hard work. There were fewer drugs sold on the streets. A police might use the necessary force to make the community feel safe from any danger it might contain while catching the drug dealer. Another danger is that if a police officer is in a rush, they could miss a specific detail which could cause an error in a case, and the police chief yelling at them. Another negative effect of being a police officer is the mental intensity; it can be a very challenging job, physically and mentally. For example, dealing with rude people who do not appreciate the policemen’s job. They must have a great deal of patience because those people do not know the struggle a cop goes through. Suicide can also occur through a police officer’s mind because of all the trauma they see while on the job. It can also be very stressful to not have enough time for family since they are always on call for work. A final disadvantage is the frustrating work schedule. One would consider it disorganized since it is subject to change in any time of the day. This also a barrier to being with family.
