There are many events in our lives that impact us and shape who we are as individuals. Some may be so minuscule that it takes years to realize how that event has impacted us and some so immensely prominent that it impacts us immediately. One such event in my life that has helped me grow as an individual and find out more about myself was being uprooted from where I grew up in Olive Branch, Mississippi and moving to Ocala, Florida. I was born in Morgantown, West Virginia and at the young age of five my family and I moved to Olive Branch, Mississippi because my father’s job relocated us. Growing up in Olive Branch was amazing and I couldn’t have grown up in a better area. It was a great city that wasn’t too big but yet not too small, it is a suburb of Memphis, Tennessee. It took quite some time to get used to living in a new city and house seven-hundred miles from “home.” I have now lived here in Ocala for a little over a year now and looking back at the time I have spent here I am now thankful for the move. It has allowed me to really develop as an individual and find out things about myself I wasn’t able to find out living in Olive Branch. I also am now in college and don’t have the distractions I did back in Olive Branch so I can focus on my studies and do good in college so I can be successful. I have really grown to like Ocala and living in Florida even though there is so much I have yet to discover about where I live now. I plan to maybe one day after I graduate from college to move back to Olive Branch to be with the woman I want to spend the rest of my life with. I hope to get into law enforcement and start my own family in the city that heavily contributed to make me the man I am

If someone were to look up "the top 20 safest cities in Georgia," this person would find my hometown at spot number seven on this list of cities. I like to call my home town the bubble. Peachtree City, Georgia is its own unique little world directly south of Atlanta. It's a world where everyone drives around on golf carts, where crime is almost unheard of, and where the whole city acts as an interconnected community. Nothing much happens in the bubble, but that is what makes this place feel so untouched and safe.…

Moving from Albuquerque, New Mexico was the first impactful event of my life. When I was seven years old and almost a half, my parents told me that my family of six was going to pack up everything, leave our home, our livelihood, and move to Idaho. At this time, I was young, but I knew I was going to miss Albuquerque. As well as those birds, I was going to miss my little Crocodile Smile green room.…
