Women should be granted with rights. Men shouldn’t be the only people allowed rights, women should too. It was hypothesised that the women’s access to rights was a lot more significant that people made it out to be. Women’s rights began in 1848 when a convention was held in Seneca Falls, New York. Suffrage was the first right granted to women. Two ladies by the names of Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Candy Stanton were the people to form the women suffrage right and alongside this they were determined to achieve the right for women to vote. The suffrage amendment was passed by the House of Representatives and Senate and was then sent over to the states for ratification. When voting finally became legal for women the first place granted was Colorado. Many things during this time took place in granting women with rights. The conscription was one of the main parts of introducing rights to women. It led to a massive increase in the number of employed women in all sectors. However, there were some negative effects in the commencement of women’s rights. There was major lack of progress and women were working a lot for not really anything. There was major gender discrimination and there was violence during this time. A lot of the conflict did calm down after a while and women were granted the right to vote and suffrage took place.
