A Short Summary Of Samuel's Survival On The Trail

In 1776 Samuel was set out alone to live in the wilderness and survive for himself. He has to survive for himself now, because one day he was on a hunting trip and when he returned back to the small settlement all the houses were burnt down, and a few of the people were lying there dead. With Samuel’s tracking skills, he finds out that his parents were not killed they were taking by the people. Samuel also found out that British soldiers escorted by Iroquois indians is who attacked his settlement. He also found out that the attack was because of the revolutionary war. While Samuel was on the trail trying to find his parents he found and eight year old girl that her parents were killed back at the attack. Samuel fights to survive, and saves his parents. His wish finally comes true and he finds his parents at the end of the trail. Samuel's parents were being held prisoner of war by British troops. After Samuel finds his family he made a very daring escape through the Hudson River. Then Samuel decides he is going to try to get his family to safety in Philadelphia. On the way to Philadelphia they run into British detachment in the woods. It was very close, but Samuel was able to fight them off and get his whole entire family to safety. Samuel’s parents ended up adopting the little girl that Samuel helped along the way; her name is Annie. Throughout the whole entire story it's almost like Samuel has supernatural ability to sense dangerous; other wise it would very hard for a thirteen year old to survive in the wilderness. Obviously after hearing all about this book you can tell that the main idea of it is survival.
